Journalists of Kazakhstani business and news media participated in the “Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy” ceremony opening the trading session on AIX as part of the World Investor Week. The ceremony is held annually at many exchanges around the world to attract public attention on raising the financial literacy of the people.
Renat Bekturov, CEO of AIX, said:
“We would like to acknowledge the contribution of local journalists in the unbiased coverage of the financial markets news in the country. Traditional mass media and new information channels help financial organizations deliver reliable information to their audiences, which is especially important today in the era of ubiquitous content creation.
World Investor Week is held annually by financial regulators in 100 countries under the auspices of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), an international organization that unites securities market regulators. The IOSCO members regulate more than 95% of the world’s securities markets in more than 115 jurisdictions.
The organizer of the World Investor Week in Astana is the Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA). This year the central theme of the WIW-2022 is “Sustaining Resilience Investing”.
After the Ring the Bell for Financial Literacy ceremony, AIX hosted a session on privatization and IPO, where speakers from Samruk-Kazyna Fund, the national company KazMunayGas, Kazpost JSC, AIX as well as brokerage companies Freedom Broker, Halyk Finance and Sky Bridge Invest made presentations on how to participate in the upcoming IPO. Over 100 of similar meetings with the population and employees of the industrial companies were held in more than 60 cities of Kazakhstan since 17 September on the initiative of Samruk-Kazyna Fund.
