Astana International Exchange (“AIX”, the “Exchange”) has participated in the “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality” initiative – a partnership intended to spur women’s participation in the global economy and promote sustainable development.
On the eve of International Women’s Day, the female top managers of AIX trading members and partners rang the opening bell for trading on the AIX.
AIX CEO Renat Bekturov noted:
“By celebrating women in business, in government, and in society, we are in fact celebrating the noble goals of a more inclusive society and the aspirations of fair and equal opportunities for all citizens. Gender equality and the successful inclusion of women in all walks of life translates into greater economic productivity, better outcomes for the next generation, and more representative decision-making and policy choices.”
AIX has a 51% female workforce whilst women hold a quarter of senior management positions, including representatives at the top management and the AIX Board of Directors.
