Results of Conditional Trading of Air Astana GDRsand Shares on AIX

Astana International Exchange (“AIX”, “Exchange”) is pleased to announce that today, as part of the Air Astana IPO, AIX with the support of Freedom Broker as a market maker, provided Kazakhstani investors with the opportunity of conditional trading for the first time ever in Kazakhstan.

This is an innovation for Kazakhstan’s stock market – local investors are able to trade on the home exchange 5 days ahead of the actual allocation into their account of the shares they subscribed to during the IPO. Such an opportunity is available in Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs) as well as Common Shares with the settlement in US dollars. Investors’ sentiment was very positive, and it is proven by the numbers for the first day of conditional trading.

First day of Conditional Trading Results:

  • On the seventh minute after the beginning of conditional trading, the amount traded was $200k.
  • During the first hour the sum of deals exceeded $3m.
  • Closing price of GDR – $9.41; share price – $2.47, which is up 4%.
  • Total value – $3.8m.

Conditional trading will continue on February 12-14, 2024, and move into regular (unconditional) trading on February 15, 2024.
