Astana International Exchange (“AIX”) is pleased to announce that Astana International Exchange Registrar Ltd. (“AIX Registrar”) has been designated to act as the National Numbering Agency (NNA) within the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).
The designation follows the approval granted by the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA), a global registration authority for securities codes.
In this role, AIX Registrar will be responsible for the allocation and administration of internationally recognized identification codes for securities and other financial instruments registered within the AIFC. This includes the issuance of International Securities Identification Numbers (ISINs) in accordance with ISO 6166, Classification of Financial Instruments (CFIs) under ISO 10962, and Financial Instrument Short Names (FISNs) pursuant to ISO 18774.
Assel Mukazhanova, CEO of AIX, commented:
“The designation of AIX Registrar marks a significant milestone in the development of the AIFC market and further enhances its alignment with global market standards and best practices. The appointment is expected to streamline and accelerate the process of assigning international identifiers to financial instruments issued within AIFC, including those on AIX. By enabling the local issuance of ISINs, CFIs and FISNs, the designation reduces reliance on external numbering agencies, shortens time-to-market for issuers, and enhances operational efficiency for market participants.”
This development further strengthens the AIFC’s market infrastructure and supports its objective of providing a seamless, internationally integrated environment for issuers, investors and intermediaries.
